#1. Buying Ticket Without Confirming the Park Pass
One of the mistakes to avoid when visiting Walt Disney World is buying a ticket without confirming the park pass.
As a rule, before you buy a Disney ticket, confirm if the park pass is available for the day you have chosen. Walt Disney World operates with a park pass system that ensures that every valid ticket comes with a pass.
The pass gives you access to the park, and your Disney ticket won’t be valid without it. So, before you buy a Disney World ticket from any agent, always confirm the availability of the park pass. Otherwise, you can’t enter the park.
To avoid unnecessary stress, buy your ticket alongside the park pass. That way, you will have fun without restriction.
#2. Not Downloading “My Disney Experience App
But wait! Who visits Disney World without downloading the ‘My Disney experience’ app? If you do, you miss out on the actual Disney experience.
The app is everything you need to have a fantastic time in the theme park. It contains everything on the trip. You can use it to book your dining, check wait times for rides, check into your hotel room, get directions on how to move from one point to another, use Disney’s free transportation, check park hours, showtimes, and many more.
So, not downloading the ‘my Disney Experience’ app is one of the mistakes to avoid when visiting Walt Disney World.
#3. Paying for Water
I keep wondering why most first time visitors to Walt Disney World always pay for water. It’s pretty surprising because you can get free water throughout the Disney property.
The property has different quick-service spots where you can get enough water. So, instead of spending a few bucks on water, you can use it on an extra nice Disney treat.
#4. Thinking You Can See Everything in a Few Days
Walt Disney World is an exceptional park. And you can’t even see everything in the park within a few days. The park is constantly changing, and whenever you visit it, there will be something new that will catch your attention.
#5. Waiting in Line for Food
Gosh, this is the 21st century. You don’t have to wait in line for food. You can electronically order for yourself.
All you have to do is log in to the My Disney Experience App and then mobile order your food in the next quick service location. It will save you time and help you snack around Walt Disney World without stress.
#6. Going Without a Stroller
One of the mistakes to avoid when visiting Walt Disney World with kids is going without a stroller. The park is always very crowded. There are a lot of activities going on there.
So, if you have kids aged 5 to 8, they may need to break from walking once in a while. But with a stroller, you can keep your kids safe.
You also need a stroller to keep your Disney merchandise.
#7. Planning an Overly Rigid Itinerary
One of the common mistakes to avoid when visiting Walt Disney World is planning a rigid itinerary. I know it’s essential to plan your entire journey. But when your itinerary is too strict, the whole experience will be less fun.
Even if you already have an existing timetable before coming to Disney World, several things may derail you from it. So, you should move with the flow and enjoy every moment of your vacation.
#8. Not Making Advance Reservations
Like I mentioned earlier, Walt Disney World is arguably the happiest place in the world. Countless people in the iconic park want to have fun.
So, most times, there are more people than the sit-down dining meals areas can take. And if you don’t make reservations, you may not have a place to sit.
For instance, you are less likely to have a space for dining at the ‘Cinderella’s Royal Table or Being Our Guest’ if you don’t make reservations.
When I was in Walt Disney World, a kid couldn’t get a space for his birthday because his parents failed to make a reservation.
The parents felt terrible because they never knew they would need to send an advance notice.
So, learn from their mistakes so that you don’t go to some of these sit-down dining meals and be stranded.
You aren’t the only person who wants to have a unique dining experience at Disney. So, book ahead of time.
You have the option to book about 60 days ahead of your trip. It’s easier in Disney World when you plan most things.
#9. Visit During Peak Season
One of the mistakes to avoid when visiting Walt Disney World is visiting the park during peak season. It’s normal for most families to go on vacation during the holiday seasons.
But if you want to have a hitch-free vacation without much crowd, it’s always better to visit Disney World during the offseasons.
If you want to have an unforgettable experience, try visiting the park during the late winter and early spring months.
